Story-centered events that spark imagination and build stronger readers.

Across the country, reading engagement is declining and fewer spaces are intentionally forming character in kids.

SkyTree Book Events are designed to change that.

We bring a high-energy, story-driven experience into schools, churches and public spaces, paired with a curated pop-up bookstore, so students just hear about great ideas, they encounter them, engage them and take them home.

Inspiring the next generation one event at a time.

What is a SkyTree Book Event?

This is a donor-funded literary experience that combines:

  • A dynamic, cinematic storytelling experience featuring multiple authors & storytellers

  • A live SkyTree host to engage, interact and bring energy to the students

  • A curated pop-up bookstore with 20-60 exceptional titles

Each event, author and book is built around the formation of:

  • Creativity — thinking beyond the obvious

  • Curiosity — asking questions

  • Critical Thinking — engaging with ideas thoughtfully

  • Connection — building strong families and relationships

  • Character — grounding in what’s true

  • Conviction — standing firm in your beliefs

Our Vision is to see a generation of kids who love reading, think deeply and are grounded in truth, character and conviction.

Most solutions focus on one side of the problem:

  • Book fairs are positioned as a retail moment rather than promoting positive values and inspiring students.

  • Assemblies inspire but aren’t paired with actionable next steps.

Across the country, reading is not just declining, it’s disengaging. National assessments show that only about one-third of fourth graders are reading at a proficient level, and fewer kids report reading for enjoyment than in past decades. At the same time, research consistently shows that motivation, access, and choice are the biggest drivers of whether a child becomes a lifelong reader.

Students who experience author visits or engaging literacy events are 40% more likely to enjoy reading in their free time and read more frequently overall, while access to books at home has been linked to dramatically higher reading achievement by as much as a 90-point difference in some studies.

But just putting more books in front of kids isn’t enough. Without inspiration and meaningful connection, books often go untouched. That’s why SkyTree Book Events are designed to do both. We spark excitement through a high-energy storytelling experience and immediately connect students with books they’re eager to read, helping turn a moment of inspiration into a lasting habit.

Why This Matters

How it Works

  • The Experience

    A fast-paced, engaging event (30-60 minutes) featuring:

Short, powerful segments from multiple authors and storytellers

Encouragement, inspiration and age-appropriate challenges

Live interaction with students led by a SkyTree host

  • The Book Pop-Up

After the event, students explore a highly curated selection of books aligned with the themes they just experienced. No overwhelm or noise. Just books that are engaging, meaningful and worth coming back to.

  • Donor-Funded Access

We partner with donors, businesses and community partners to bring these experiences to students

  • $1,500 fully funds a book event

  • $500 brings author and storytelling content to life

  • $100 puts books directly into kid's’ hands

Every gift ensures all students can experience this regardless of budget.

Fund a SkyTree Book Event

SkyTree Book Events are designed to do more than sell books. They create meaningful, story-centered experiences that shape how children see reading, themselves, and the world around them.

While some schools are able to host these events on their own, many cannot.

That’s why we’ve created the SkyTree Book Event Fund.

Through donor support, we’re able to offer fully sponsored events to schools, removing the cost barrier and making space for every child to encounter stories that inspire creativity, curiosity, and strong character.

  • $1,500 sponsors a full school event

  • $500 helps bring an author to students

  • $100 puts books directly into kids’ hands

Whether you give toward a full event or simply help move one forward, you are making these moments possible.
